Yu Ji is a junior conductor who currently studies in department of conducting, Central Conservatory of Music, under the supervision of illustrious conductor Prof. Yu Feng.

Yu Ji also participated several international master classes like the 2nd International Conducting Master Class and Gstaad Conducting Academy, he was highly appraised by Maestro Jaap van Zweden , Maestro Johannes Schlaefli and Maestro Thomas Sanderling.

Yu Ji has wide cooperation with operas and orchestras all over the world, including China Philharmonic Orchestra,Central Conservatory Symphony Orchestra, China National Opera House, Gstaad Music Festival Orchestra, Orchestra I Pomeriggi musicali, Shanghai Opera House, Fujian Opera House, Hangzhou Philharmonic Orchestra, Ningbo Symphony Orchestra,KunMing NiEr Symphony Orchestra LanZhou Symphony Orchestra and China Youth Symphony Orchestra. Together With these societies Yu Ji performed music pieces such as Stravinsky’ s the Firebird, Beethoven’s Egmont Overture, Symphony #5 in C Minor, Brahms’ Symphony #3 in F Major, Prokofiev’ s Symphony #1 in D and Peter and Wolf as well as several operas like La Traviata, Madama Butterfly and Turandot.

Yu Ji also devoted himself to the exploration and promotion of contemporary Chinese music, participated in the establishment of the “Ensemble Novel” contemporary ensemble, and served as director and artistic director. “Ensemble Novel” is committed to discovering and promoting Chinese young composers, and has successfully organized 4 concerts for young composers.
